Interim Principal

Welcome to Dunn Elementary School! I am Dr. Tamekkia Cotton, and I am honored to serve as the Interim Principal of Dunn Elementary School. With 24 years of experience in education, I am excited to serve alongside our dedicated staff, wonderful students, supportive families, and community.

It is our honor and privilege to serve our students and families, and we are thrilled to welcome you to our school community. As we begin the 2026–2027 school year, we remain committed to providing a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment where every student is encouraged to learn, grow, and reach their fullest potential.

At Dunn Elementary School, we believe in creating meaningful learning experiences that promote academic excellence, confidence, character, and a lifelong love of learning. Our dedicated staff works tirelessly to meet the individual needs of our students and to ensure that every child feels valued, supported, and inspired.

Our theme for the 2026–2027 school year is:

“Driven by the Journey, Focused on the Destination!”

This theme reminds us that success is not simply about reaching a final goal—it is also about the growth, learning, perseverance, and experiences we gain along the way. Every student, staff member, and family plays an important role in our journey. As we remain focused on our destination, we will continue working together to ensure that every student is supported, challenged, and empowered to achieve their very best.

We strongly believe that student success is a shared responsibility. When our school, families, and community work together, we can create endless opportunities for our children. We encourage our families to stay connected, become actively involved, and partner with us as we continue to make Dunn Elementary School a place where every child can thrive.

We are excited about the journey ahead and look forward to all that this school year will bring.
